Queen's Day 2005

On the 30 of April 2005, Foundation Save a Russian Child participated in the street market that is traditionally held every year as part of the Queen's Birthday celebration in Amsterdam.

We set up our stall early in the morning on the Appollolaan in Amsterdam, equipped with leaflets and lots of items for sale (kindly donated to us by numerous individuals).
The morning started nicely - dry, warm weather. Soon many people came out on to the streets. Which thankfully allowed us to make the most of this campaigning opportunity.
We distributed leaflets, sold all kinds of things (second hand clothes, CD's, books, crockery etc.) and, of course, tried to tell people about our cause.

Thanks to the great motivation and effort of few volunteers who always support the foundation, the action attracted enough attention to be a success.
The amount raised on the day totaled191 Euro.
All the money collected will be directed to the children in Russian and Ukrainian hospitals.

We would like to express the gratitude to our enthusiastic volunteers - Penka Rousseva & Jana Petrova - and to everyone who contributed to make this campaign a success.
