We, parents of Youri, ask all of you who will read this page to respond to our call and to stretch to our child a helping hand.
Youri grew as a normal, ordinary healthy boy - very mobile and energetic. He became 7 years old and studied in the second class of school-liceum. His attitude to school occupations was average and it was necessary to adjust him all time; but in usual daily life Youri thinks in an adult way.
Suddenly in January 2003 we have found out that Youri is sick. His diagnose was: Nehodzhkin B-cellular 3-rd degree lymphoma. The boy had to go through appointed treatment: six blocks of polychemotherapy. Six long months...
As
well as for any other parents, this news came as a big shock. Everything what
was happening felt just like a terrible dream... And still sometimes we just wish
to wake up and be convinced that all this is not true...
But, unfortunately, we can't escape from a reality. We have accumulated all our forces, all our will and began to help with Youri's treatment. Many of the people we knew have responded, and even many strangers; everyone helped as he could. The school in which Youri studies, each month within half-year transferred to us the money collected for purchase of medicines. And the children from all elementary grades of the school where sending to him their handmade items and letters; they waited very much, that Youri soon would return to school.
All went well, sometimes with certain difficulties, but our son has passed already almost everything on this difficult way. Unfortunately - not up to the end...
In
June the final sixth block should begin. And suddenly Youri's illness has renewed.
The rash has appeared, lymph nodes were inflamed. Something had happened of what
we did not dare even to think: relapse on a background of intensive therapy.
Now the transplantation of bone marrow is vitally necessary for a boy. Such a operation can be done only in Kiev, and it costs very dearly. We do not have such means... The only bone marrow donor for Youri is me - his mum. And also that is not yet known for sure. Most likely the means for a donor selection will be necessary.
We, parents, and all his familiar and friends asking you to help Youri ! Help our son. We want, that he would live long and happily, had children who never would know and have not tested on themselves all that, through what has passed Youri self.
We want, that our child lived! Help us, please.

On
this photo - Youri with five-month old brother. Their mum is broken off between
hematological department of the hospital and the house, because feeding the kid
is necessary on hours. It is good, that daddy near to them, does everything that
depends on him.
Family Usenko half year long tries to buy everything,
that it is necessary for a treatment. They do not complain, but simply try to
cope the forces.
But illness appeared to be "artful". And now the boy and his parents urgently require your help.

MY BEST FRIEND
My
name is Nina. I have cousin - Youri. He will be 8 years old this summer. We are
friends, together play on days off and on a vacation. Youri studies in 2nd class,
and I in the 3-rd.
He loves sports very much. Likes to jog. He teaches me to play football. And also Youri likes to read books & magazines, to collect puzzles, to draw, make handmade articles. He likes to cook.
Recently Youri
has got a younger brother Daniil. And he plays with him, looks after him when
mum is occupied.
