The volunteer of AdVita in Germany Ania informs: “Only one thing disturbs Sasha now - grip. So, that it would not develop into pneumonia, Sasha receives intravenous antibiotic. Would be good to remove catheter, but in Kiev no hospital dears to do it. On July 11 Sasha will have his 3rd birthday.

06.06.2008. Sasha feels not bed - has passed already two courses of Temodal. Besides Temodal Sasha assumes the large dose of food supplements.

06.05.2008. Because of the antibiotics Sasha sufficiently rapidly recovered from bronchitis. On dexamethasone the little-one ate better. He feels good. On May 4 Sasha with the parents left back to Kiev… As the supporting therapy doctors recommend the assuming of Temodal: 5 days course, 15 days interruption. Such course of Temodal costs minimum 708 Euros. Help is again necessary!

17.04.2008. After the revision of CT-scan photographs the increase in volume of the tumor and the presence of metastases were discovered. Further treatment was not proposed. To the child doctors only have increased the dose of dexamethasone. Sasha’s father quickly leaves for Berlin. Now we search for other possibilities to continue the treatment of the little one.

The volunteer of AdVita in Germany Ania informs: “Sasha feels well, he takes a rest after chemotherapy … In April Sasha will go to the rehabilitation centre for children with neurological diseases.
The boy needs rehabilitation treatment as at the age of 2,5 years he does not yet sit independently and without a support, does not creep, does not speak, practically does not drink independently and can eat only porridges. But he attempts to sit basing on his arms and due to this develops a strong curvature of a backbone which demands orthopedic treatment. Therefore the Berlin doctors have decided to send him in the specialized centre... We yet do not know, how much will expenses be for this stage of treatment, and as well for the already carried out treatment. But already it is now clear, that remaining on the account of clinic money will not suffice...
Operation on removal of spokes from a leg at the end of March has passed successfully. Soon after awakening, Sasha has grasped the bed edges and for the first time set up without mother's help! ”

Sasha's mum gave us a good news: "A while ago a new scan was made and it shows that the tumor has disappeared from the neck part of vertebra. The boy can sit by himself. I'm very thankful to all who helps us."

We have got a good news - the German representative of the Belgium company Schering-Plough has agreed to provide free of charge the medicine Temodal for Sasha for half-year treatment period.

Since December, 2006 Sash with mum are in German clinic “HELIOS Klinikum Berlin-Buch ” (Wiltbergstr. 50, 13125 Berlin; Dr. Wickmann tel. +49 30 9401 2359/3258). Because of absence of financial means it was necessary to stop the chemotherapy treatment with preparation Temodal. 1 treatment of necessary 6 is made up to now. Cost of one course is 2500 euros. Doctors have offered a cheaper radiation therapy. Sasha has passed today a 4-th day of this therapy, and in total it will be necessary to carry out 30 sessions. "Sasha was our unique and long-awaited son. Now he’s one year and four months. It was the cheerful child. There was a spring and we drew only the bright future. But at the end of April 2006 our kid’s health began to be worsened, he began languid, sad, refused food, vomiting has appeared. At medical inspection the terrible diagnosis was revealed - a tumor of a brain. It seemed, that life has stopped, that it is simply terrible dream. But the most terrible expected ahead.

On April, 21 he was put in the Institute of Neurosurgery Romodanov for realization of operation on removal of a tumor, doctors have put all over again the shunt for outflow of a liquid from a head, but after the treatment the child became absolutely bad: eyes rolled upwards, a swallow reflex was gone, the mouth was constantly open, the child has left in itself, during dream eyes were not closed. Because of dehydration, he became similar to a small dried up old man. The body began to leave liquid excrement of black color, and a mouth was vomiting bloody slices. The basic operation on removal of a tumor was cancelled. The attending physician has told, that he will die on an operational table. To us the further steps have being explained - couple of days he will remain with us, then in reanimations the kid will enter into medicamentous dream and all everything will be finished. We could not believe and prayed to God. The kid has survived and on May 25, as the boy was not subject to treatment, we were sent home. I have gone to Moscow’s Institute of Burdenko with the x-rays and analyses, but there was a categorical refusal about realization of operation.

The fortune has sent us the woman who has offered a financial help. We have got to Germany, to Frankfurt am Main. German doctors have made impossible - unique operation (operation lasted for 7,5 hours on 4 July 2006), but because of bad localization of a tumor and growing into a trunk of a brain, surgeons have removed only 80 %. The conclusion of histology - anaplastic ependimom (3-rd grade). In two weeks after operation the kid has opened eyes, which was like a miracle. Gradually he started to move hands, then on the sly to eat without a probe. We have come back home for passage of chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately, after the first block of chemistry a sharp deterioration of state of health was concluded, and it became clear, that he might not transfer the following block, and it is possible to do an irradiation only after three years.

And still our boy the every prospect has appeared to live. Now he is absolutely adequate child, laughs, plays with toys. One of these days he has told the first word "mum".

Unfortunately, illness has not disappears and it is necessary to struggle. But the big financial means are necessary for passage of such therapy, supporting and regenerative therapy which are very expensive. The salary of my husband hardly suffice on the most necessary. All help which was rendered, is already spent on treatment.

We shall be very grateful, if you render us a financial support in realization of the further treatment. The kid has passed very difficult and long way to a present condition. We hope, that the most terrible is behind, but without your help it is almost unreal.
