The last operation was conducted on October 18, 2006. On the
8-th day after operation a course of chemotherapy was carried
out (under protocol NB-99) and is also the radioactive therapy
was performed on the right humeral bone. Further after a recovery
it's decided to carry out a high dose chemotherapy with auto
bone marrow transplantation. The medicines as Busulfan and
Melfalan were used. Sasha was placed in sterile boxing and
the loneliness and communication with medical staff only he
has passed very well. He feels great after Transplantation
and is recovering now. Sasha and his mum live not in the hospital
right now, but rent an apartment in Moscow. Sasha takes multi-vitamins
and enzymes. There's still a radioactive therapy on a belly
cavity ahead and taking of Roaccutan afterwards (about 6 courses).
These are capsules - biological chemistry product. More founds
are needed to cover this medical costs.

There are unfavorable news – Sasha has got a relapse
of illness. At the moment they are in Moscow; have passed
the first course of anti-relapse chemotherapy. There was a
MBG-scanning on September, 17. By results of KT - reduction
of a tumor by 93 %. By results of MIBG - essential reduction
of accumulation, in a humeral bone; there was a metastasis,
at a tiny point. It’s decided to continue the chemotherapy.
By results of analyses the 3-rd course will begin.
Sasha stands the treatment hard, parameters of blood are dropping
as a side effect.
Support, both moral, and material is now very necessary for
them.

Sasha stays on the supportive therapy in Donetsk.
In the first days of July he will go to Moscow for the planned
inspection. The mom of the boy Inga plans to conduct in Moscow
in the Institute of Immunology third supporting chemistry,
since the doctors in Donetsk had disrupted the planned motion
of treatment, by refusing in conducting of the chemotherapy
in time.

de stoma is afgesloten. De doktors zijn tevreden over het
verloop van de operatie. Op het moment verblijft Sasha in
de reanimatie afdeling. Waarschijnlijk op maandag wordt hij
naar de ‘normale’ afdeling terug geplaatst. De
ouders houden zich taai…”

I have talked with Inga. The state of Sasha is not very well
at the moment. There’s an urgent necessity in a donor
for a tromboconcentrate. The very high percentage of people/donors
is not suitable. Yesterday they had a blood treatment into
the debt (from other people’s money). Chemotherapy is
finished. Now are undergoing rays-therapy. Still one week
of this therapy to go, but the thrombocytes are 33!!!! Sasha’s
body covered with the bruises, he eats nothing. A donnor in
Moscow is urgently necessary... "

"My boy Sasha is 5,5 years old. On February
4 this year, his stomach began to be painful and the temperature
had risen to 38 degrees. Pain was on the right side and the child
had the signs of acute appendicitis. Without calling the ambulance
we had arrived ourselves into the provincial children's hospital.
The doctor has checked the child and came to a conclusion that this
was not an appendicitis, but some problem (we could not even suspect
what!) with the bowels.
The whole day we has spent in the general
department, and after making echolocation the formation of retroperitoneal
space with the size of 10.6 cm was discovered. The boy was transferred
to the department of the 1-st surgery. Operation was assigned to
8.02.06. In the course of operation the biopsy was taken and the
tumor was estimated as it was inoperable. It laid on the bladder
in diagonal way, germinating urethra, the mesentery of bowels, thick
gut and, the most terrible, that it was present in the veins. In
the course of operation the doctors had derived the colostomy..."
The first block of chemotherapy was conducted
in Donetsk (Ukraine). The boy had passed trough it very badly, practically
did not arise for 2 weeks from the bed and ate nothing. Child has
greatly lost weight. Our doctors advised to go to Moscow, or, if
possibility allow, to Germany. So, we simultaneously approached
one clinic in Munich and The SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE “RAMN
of Blokhin” in Moscow. The answer from Germany arrived in
2 weeks - the indicated sum was beyond any possibilities: from 80000
EUR. Moscow assumed us for 10-15.000 USD.
The second course of Chemotherapy was conducted
in Moscow and Sasha went trough it better then the previous time.
Recovery period was passed smoothly in Ukraine. When we arrived
to Moscow for the study of the following course of Chemotherapy,
the doctors had decided to make an operation, since tumor did not
react too well to Chemo treatment.
The operation was conducted on 12 May, 2006.
The surgeons from the clinic for the adults were invited to participate.
Tumor was removed, but not completely, small piece remained on the
rectum in a size of 2x2,5 cm. After inspection (fluorescent situ
hybridization -FISH) and biopsy - it was decided to replace the
bone marrow transplantation by one course of radiation and four
courses of Chemotherapy.
The week after operation in Moscow the boy has
passed a course of the radiation therapy.
One permanent difficulty remains during the
treatment: not so much available donors for the Sasha’s blood
group A2(+).
To means for the trip to the Moscow’s
hospital were gathered by all enthusiastic helpers-volunteers. ENORMOUS
THANKS TO ALL THEM! The collected amount was about 15.000 USD. At
the moment only 6.000 USD are missing for a complete treatment.
A half of this sum (3.000 USD) we already have; resting 3.000 we
are trying to collect now.
This operation
is very necessary for Sasha - the result of further treatment will
depend on it. Help us, please, whith what you can!!
