The message from Eugeny from hematolog@googlegroups.com: "Just
now I had phoned to Anna Permyakova. She sends many greetings
and appreciation to all who helped with the treatment of Alina
during last year! As she says on their own they would not
be able to support this anti-hepatitis treatment.
On December 9 Alina has finished the half year course of
the combined therapy Intron-A and Rebetol (in the tablets).
They have decided not to make an analysis after the end of
this course - since it’s very expensive and there is
no special need now in this. A control period of checking
– over half a year. Then Permyakov’s will make
an extended analysis.
Alina withstood the treatment heavily, but with fortitude.
The last 10 tablets of Rebetol she did not drink due to a
very severe stomatitis, ulcers in the mouth. The mom took
upon herself the courage not to give the pills in the last
5 days. However, Intron is injected completely.
After treatment Alina is recovered now and started to eat
normally. On the 6th month the hair started to fall out –
a side reaction at the treatment; but this matter is recoverable.
The analysis of the blood had showd a low hemoglobin. The
onco-hematologist has conciliated, that this also can be just
a temporary consequence of the therapy. The analysis will
be repeated next month and if the hemoglobin still remains
low, the iron will be injected.
At the moment Alina with the impatience awaits a new year,
in order to realize her cherished dream, for which she awaited
more than a year, and about which she constantly told the
mom: to eat some pork!"

My name is Alina. At the end of October I’ll become 10 years old.
But when I was not yet two and a half years, I became ill with the blood
cancer - acute lymphoblast leucosis. I was very small then and did not know
what for disease it was, I remember only that all around me frequently cried,
and that with my mum I stayed for very long in a hospital. After chemotherapy
my bones became brittle, and as soon as we left from hospital, I again had
to return there, this time with the break of thighbone. From the radiation
my sight went down, and now I ware the glasses and cannot for long be occupied
behind a computer or to watch TV.
They treated me for five years, and indicate that
cured me from the leucosis. But during this treatment they frequently
poured a blood to me, and accidentally have infected me with Hepatitis
C. When I stayed at the hospital as a little girl many people helped me.
Now I ask your aid again. My mum is an economist in the hospital, dad
is a driver, and have no sufficient money in order to purchase the necessary
medicine: Pegintron. Doctors say that at the moment this only what can
help me.
I don’t believe this is only what can help
me, because I believe in God. This month (September), for the first time
in the life I had confessed.
Now I have no pains, but nevertheless I do not
go for a walk on the sun, do not eat everything that I would like. I have
luck with the doctors, but nevertheless I still fear to get to hospital
again...
Doctor - Hepatologist has determined the schedule of treatment for Alina
Permyakova. Schedule is called "maximum therapy". Taking into
account Alina´s genotype is 1B and that that she has passed laferron-therapy,
on any other treatment the girl cannot respond.
First 4 weeks: Intron 3 millions + 2 tablets of rebitol - daily. In
4 weeks - analysis on PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction). If PCR is negative,
the same scheme remains for 8 more weeks. It means 12 weeks in total.
Generally all the treatment can end by this. (We hope very much that these
12 weeks would be sufficient for Alina in order to become healthy!)
But if PCR in the first 4 weeks will remain positive, then scheme is
changed for the cheaper antifibrogenic therapy.
The first version of a treatment will cost according to the calculations
of the representative of commercial firm:
= Rebitol - 2 packs of 140 tables. = 2 x of 4100 grivnas = 8200 grivnas.
= Intron - 1 syringe - 6 doses = 1100 grivnas x 14 syringes = 15400 grivnas.
Altogether - 23600 grivnas (4720 dollars USA). The Rebitol from the second
packing is used only 40-50 tablets.
(Considering the prices, placed in the Internet, if we acquire medicines
in Russia, they will cost somewhat less).
The rather the treatment will be begun - the better. But there is
no money as yet...
