Here in the West we are fortunate to live a life of comfort with the knowledge that in the event of illness the Government will cover any Medical expenses we incur. However in other regions of the world many people are less fortunate than we are. In some instances they have no proper Medical insurance. As a result countless children are suffering and even dying from serious yet curable illnesses on a daily basis purely because their families do not have sufficient means to cover the expense of the Medical services required. In Russia the cost of Medical care is much cheaper than here, however despite this the costs incurred in treating serious/lengthy diseases can still be very expensive. Their daily lives are subject to serious illness, excruciating pain and despair. If we do nothing the children who are in need of this costly treatment often will not get the opportunity to be treated. It is unbearable to know that many of these children could be cured but it is impossible because of shortage of money. In contrast to these children and their families most of us are healthy and wealthy in comparison. We are in a position to make a difference, to provide another quality of existence, to offer them the chance to live. If each of us open our hearts and unite our efforts to improve the suffering of others then realistically we can potentially save many young lives. Their health, future, lives are in our hands.
