Byzantian Choir Christmas Beneficiary concert

A brief History:
Soester Byzantine Small Choir was founded in September 1999 from the Soester Byzantine chamber choir which was set up in 1992 by conductor Frans J.Wertwijn. The ensemble is known for singing the splendidly liturgical music in the tradition of the Russian church. The choir is often asked to participate in the Christmas services of both Roman Catholic and Protestant churches and has an extensive repertoire of Russian liturgical songs, which are suitable for each existing liturgy. All members of the group are trained amateurs, who followed both music and singing classes.

On Thursday, 19th of December of 2002 the Soester Byzantine Small Choir under the guidance of conductor Frans J. Wertwijn has given a benefit Christmas Concert in a small Nederlandse Protestantse Bond church located in Soest. The programme consisted of Russian liturgical Christmas music and both Russian and Ukrainian Christmas Carols.
The Soester Byzantine Choir has chosen to support our Charity by donating the proceeds raised from this concert to our foundation "Save a Russian Child".

We would like to thank everybody who has joined us for the Charity Christmas Concert on the evening of Thursday, 19th of December at NPB-church at Rembrantlaan 20, Soest.
